What A-PQ 30 is used for
A-PQ 30 is used for treatment of relapse (radical cure) of malaria tertiana as a result of Plasmodium vivax or Plasmodium ovale. A-PQ 30 is indispensable for treatment of relapse of malaria.
A-PQ 30 is used in the prophylaxis of all forms of malaria. It can also be used for the prophylaxis of Pneumocystis jirovecii-infections.
How A-PQ 30 works
A-PQ 30 contains as active ingredient Primaquine. Primaquine is an 8-amino-quinoline compound. This medicine combats the parasites in their liver stage.
How is A-PQ 30 administered and what is the dosing scheme (for malaria)?
For prophylaxis for malaria take 1 tablet A-PQ 30 a day during 7 days until departure.
For overlapping treatment of malaria take 1 tablet A-PQ 30 a day for 14 -21 days.
Always follow the instructions from your specialist about the prescribed dose.
One carton of A-PQ 30 contains 10 tablets.
