What A-CQ 100 is used for
A-CQ 100 is used for the prevention and treatment of malaria.
A-CQ 100 can also be prescribed for:
- the treatment of particular forms of rheumatoid arthritis
- the treatment of an inflammation-like disease of the skin and/or intestines (Lupus erythematosus)
How A-CQ 100 works (for malaria)
A-CQ 100 contains 100 mg Chloroquine base per tablet. A-CQ 100 combats the reproduction of malaria parasites and inhibits the formation of deviant autoimmune bodies.
Dosing scheme A-CQ 100 (for malaria)
For prophylaxis of malaria: 3 tablets A-CQ 100 once a week should be taken, beginning 2 weeks before departure until 4 - 8 weeks after return.
For treatment of malaria: start with 6 tablets A-CQ 100 and take after 6 hours 3 tablets. This is followed by 3 tablets during 2 until maximal 4 days.
One carton of A-CQ 100 contains 3 blisters of 10 tablets.
